About
I am a Brazilian scholar particularly interested about the Maya, Mesoamerica and their calendars, since before I entered the university. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. As an anthropologist, my effort is to understand past and present Maya diversity, including its calendrical aspects, and the importance of time and space in Maya life, thought and ritual.
I am also a FLOSS (Free Libre Open Source Software) enthusiast and a software (specially Web) developer. My PhD dissertation also includes "applied anthropology" (to FLOSS software dev). I am ready to offer consultancy involving anthropology, sociology, quantitative and/or qualitative studies and related areas, as well as technical and technological support and advisement. I currently offer web development and other services at Magia Soft.

Since 2001, I started my journey both in Maya studies and in the FLOSS universe, when I migrated my Operational System from Windows directly to FreeBSD. In the past 20+ years, apart from my academic education I had several experiences both as a System Administrator of *BSD and GNU/LINUX and as a software developer.
